"Pear Blossoms in the Rain" is set in Lihua Village in eastern Zhejiang and is divided into three parts, detailing the life trajectories of four generations. The work praises true love, remembers the deceased ancestors, shows the social scene of different eras, and praises truth, goodness and beauty. It not only tells the story of villagers working together to overcome difficulties, but also more affectionately eulogizes the heroes of the Anti-Japanese War, and praises the sense of responsibility to family and loyalty to love. The characters in the book face life actively and show their firm belief in the future. At the same time, they discuss issues such as the electronicization of archives and the protection of ancient buildings, which are thought-provoking. Among them, "The Bells of Lishan Temple" focuses on the changes in Lihua Village, as well as the ups and downs of Lishan Temple and its virtues of helping others; "Tears of Time" narrates the rise and fall of Wang Sanmei's family, showing the opportunities and challenges in reform and opening up; "The Smile Is Still Bright" shows Liu Ruqing's life during the epidemic, recalling the sufferings of her predecessors, and paying tribute to the heroic deeds of He Xuemei and Liu Huiying who sacrificed their lives for the country.
