Great Tang: Is My Dad Really a Great General?

The Tang Dynasty, autumn of the first year of Zhenguan.

Jieli personally leads hundreds of thousands of troops south.

Everywhere they pass, the land is devastated and the people suffer. Nine out of ten homes stand empty.

The northern frontier is like hell, and the people can barely survive.

Not one of the court’s generals can stop the barbarians’ advance.

With no other choice, Li Shimin issues an edict, sending someone to invite the long-reclusive Guardian General out of retirement…

Cheng Yaojin: “Little girl, is your father the Guardian General?”

Xi’er: “What? My father’s a general? Don’t be ridiculous.”

Yuchi Gong: “Young lady, I come by His Majesty’s command to invite the General out of retirement!”

Xi’er: “Sir, don’t tease me. My father’s just a lazy, greedy, good-for-nothing. How could he possibly be a general?”

Li Jing: “General, the flames of war are spreading across the northern frontier. Are you really going to abandon the people of the realm?”

Xi’er: “This is getting annoying. How many times do I have to tell you? My father’s just a country bumpkin…”
