Su Muyuan (puppet master, dual personality), a direct descendant of the Su family in the Great Yong Dynasty, was expelled by the family as an "evil spirit" because of his "soul controller" power. When he was living on the street, he was rescued by Shen Zhaozhao (an eccentric elf, but actually an intelligence officer of the "Shadow Pavilion") in the capital's "Drunken Immortal Tower". The two teamed up because of the "Puppet Murder Case" (the emblem of the Su family was left on the scene). During the process, Su Muyuan discovered that his dual personality originated from the "soul-sealing technique" of the reclusive master "Old Puppet" (to protect his soul-controlling powers). Shen Zhaozhao also revealed his identity as a "Shadow Pavilion" - in fact, he was Su Muyuan's childhood playmate (who was rescued by "Old Puppet" and whose parents were killed by the aristocratic family). As the investigation deepens, the "puppet murder" conspiracy of the Su family's cousin Su Mucheng (who is jealous of Su Muyuan's superpowers) comes to light. Su Muyuan counterattacks by "pretending to be a pig and eating a tiger", but due to the family's frame-up, he falls into "treason and alienation". In the end, under the guidance of the "Puppet Old Man", Su Muyuan merged his dual personality, uncovered the secret of the Su family's "Soul Controller" (the family rejected him because he was afraid of the exposure of his powers), and together with Shen Zhaozhao solved Sumu City, starting a new journey away from the family.
