[Middle school romance]
[Two top students + coming-of-age + sweet at first, then heartbreaking + BE]
[Disclaimer: This book contains no extreme content that violates the law or morality. It’s astonishingly tame: the leads don’t even hold hands once throughout the entire book.]
[So I don’t think this really counts as a “romance.” It’s more like “half a romance,” mostly reminiscing about those awkward years of youth. Think of it as a storybook.]
“Some memories should be treasured in our hearts. We cherished the three years we spent studying together.”

“Back then, I could never see eye to eye with her. I was always doing outrageous things and hurting her pride.”
He remembers the walk home they shared that year, the time they sat together as desk mates, and how they eventually went their separate ways.

The little bear doodles in her physics error notebook have become a hurdle he still can’t get over.
That old Bic pen feels like a blade piercing his heart.
In his headphones, he’s still listening to “Waiting for You After Class” by his beloved Jay Chou from his youth.
“When you receive a love letter, it means I’ve already gone far away, ”
“Bastard,”
he curses himself silently.
“If you had the chance to start over, would you still fall for her?”
“No, ”
“I wish I’d never appeared in her world.”
