Lin Yan transmigrates into the body of a clumsy medical student in the 1960s, bringing along a time-reversal golden finger to the Red Star Siheyuan. As long as he has enough practice points, he can retry endlessly! A misplaced needle? Turn back time and try again. The wrong medicine? Start over and mix a new prescription. From shaky sutures to miraculous cures, he’ll show anyone who doubts him!
Jia Zhangshi throws a fit and tries to snatch the grain? He lays a plank in advance so she takes a spill, putting a stop to her wailing. Xu Damao fakes a pregnancy? He sees through the motherwort trick at a glance and turns the tables on him. Silly Zhu stubbornly refuses treatment? Three rounds of testing prescriptions cure his stomach ulcer, and the tough guy admits defeat on the spot. A worker is left scarred by burns? Five attempts at refining the medicine produce a honey-and-sulfa combination that amazes the whole factory!
From the steel mill infirmary to becoming a renowned master of traditional Chinese medicine in the capital, from making a home in three rooms to opening clinics everywhere, he uses his medical skills to secure special supplies and his abilities to put the courtyard’s bullies in their place. Through all the storms, he also finds warmth in those at his side: she mends clothes and hides away extra grain; she learns to identify and dispense medicine, becoming his right hand; she brings books to ask his advice, showing her trust; and when trouble comes, she stands shoulder to shoulder with him, holding fast to their original hopes.
Time reversal gives him confidence, and medical skill gives him a backbone. Watch Lin Yan use his healing hands to cure illness and outwit people, as he and his companions build a life the whole courtyard envies. The bullies back down, and the years grow gentle, all because his skills are strong enough!
