The Netherworld’s dragon leyline has been stolen by darkness, and the Three Realms teeter on the brink of collapse. Yang Jian, the Divine Investigator, forcibly suppresses the rampaging dragon soul, but its malice corrupts his third eye and turns it demonic. Even his loyal hound, Xiaotian, is transformed into a savage bone-white dragon demon.
Born to answer a calamity, “Guchen” is in truth a weapon spirit formed from fragments of the Golden Cudgel fused with battle intent and remnants of Netherworld souls. Tasked by Dizang with “stopping the dragon’s lament,” he carries the East Sea’s supreme treasure, the “Essence of Water,” to the underworld. With every step, frigid energy spreads through his body, leaving it webbed with icy cracks.
To keep Yang Jian from falling completely to demonic corruption, Guchen thrusts the essence into his third eye, forging the “Eye of Purifying Corruption,” which can cleanse darkness but devours divine nature. Xiaotian’s remnant soul takes the opportunity to possess him, granting him the world-shattering “Devouring Moon Wolf Form.” Its claws tear through the Netherworld, but the wolf’s determination to protect is also branded into Guchen’s soul.
When Yang Jian, caught between lucidity and madness, demands through blood and tears, “To save all living beings, you must slay a god. Do you dare swing your cudgel?” Guchen is bound in ice crystals, his heart seared by the wolf soul. The battle-intent fragments roar of the glory of killing gods, while the essence crumbles and slips from his fingers...
With that strike, he splits the shackles binding gods and demons, proving the Dao in the body of a weapon spirit:
“The name Guchen belongs neither to ape nor hound. It belongs only to the one who wields the cudgel!”
The Three Realms are reborn after the calamity. All that remains is dried divine blood around the wrist of the godslayer, and an eternally vivid, ghost-green wolf’s eye in his left socket.
