P.S. This isn’t your traditional Investiture of the Gods.
When the System panel first popped up in the wastelands of Xiqi with the prompt [Sign in?], Lin Fan had no idea that the moment he pressed confirm, the entire script of the Investiture of the Gods would begin to veer off course.
This isn’t a straightforward campaign of slaying generals and receiving divine titles. It’s a transmigrator’s journey to upend the order of the Primordial World by using sign-in privileges to shake up its very foundations: signing in at Mount Kunlun earns him a fragment of the Chaos Pearl, but accidentally awakens a sleeping deity;
signing in at the Dragon Palace in the East Sea unlocks the Ancestral Dragon’s legacy, only to drag him into a thousand-year feud between the Dragon Clan and the Western Religion; even an ordinary sign-in at Qingqiu binds his fate tightly to that of Su Jiu'er, the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox.
Other people’s paths through the Investiture of the Gods are about choosing sides between the Chan Sect and the Jie Sect. His sign-ins, however, prompt all 365 gods to petition as one: “Immortal, if you don’t take these divine posts, we won’t feel at ease taking them ourselves!”
Other people’s Systems are just tools for completing missions. His Myriad Worlds at Leisure System, however, develops self-awareness after he severs his Three Corpses: “Host, how about we head to a world of technology, get some fireworks, and celebrate the New Year back in the Primordial World?”
When the Godslayer Spear purifies Luo Hou’s lingering will, the Nine-Dragon Battle Armor fuses with the dragon qi of the Four Seas, and Lin Fan stands atop the Investiture Altar, holding the Calamity-Deduction Pearl in his left hand and opening a spatial passage to Earth with his right, the Three Pure Ones finally realize the truth:
This transmigrator with a System for signing in never came to go along with the Investiture of the Gods. He came to give the Primordial World a different way to live.
Who says the Investiture of the Gods can have only one ending?
