The meaning of "Ridge Era":
Literally: The era that runs through the core of Pangu's spine (the Buzhou Mountain fragment).
Symbol: The evolutionary path of human civilization from ignorance and reliance on heaven and earth (spine support), to walking independently (spine erect), to exploring the universe (spine extension).
Metaphor: The "backbone" of the world's operation - from the laws of chaos to the laws of science, Yandao is the embodiment and observer of this "backbone".
The essence and obsession of Yan Dao:
He is the remains of creation, the living fossil of prehistoric times, and the seed of the future.
His obsession stems from his own contradiction: he possesses the power of creation (partial), but is not the true creator (Pangu). He has witnessed the glory and decay of the age of gods and demons, and is full of curiosity and scrutiny on an almost philosophical level as to whether humans, the "latecomers", can surpass the innate gods and demons and create a more harmonious, lasting and meaningful "world".
"Understanding the creation of the world" not only refers to physical creation, but also refers to all-round creations such as civilization forms, social systems, spiritual realms, and the exploration and application of the ultimate laws of the universe.
