When the Human Federation's deep space probe captured the first unnatural pulse signal in the "Abyss of Silence", no one knew that it was the opening whistle of a cosmic-level hunt. In a jump accident, starship engineer Lin Xia accidentally discovered the secret of the "Star Eaters" - they are not intelligent civilizations, but "civilized cancer cells" that wander in the gaps of dimensions and proliferate by devouring the life and laws of the star system.
In order to prevent the Earth from becoming the next prey, Lin Xia was forced to form an alliance with the defecting Star Eater "Zero", only to find that the Human Federation had already been infiltrated, and even the strongest "Star Dome Defense Line" was a bait set by the Star Eater. From dismantling the "Thinking Nebula" that eats up memories, to planting antimatter bombs in collapsing white dwarf stars, they must find the "Origin Nest" of the Star Eater before civilization is eaten up - the terrifying existence hidden in the folds of time that feeds on the entire universe.
