Lin Chen, a recent graduate of a prestigious university who has just lost his job, discovers a silver scythe pendant while clearing out his things at the company. By chance, he forms an artifact-spirit contract with a little silver dragon named Light, who claims to be an artifact spirit. He gains the ability to communicate with the dead and travel through space. At Light’s request, he sets out to collect all thirteen arcane instruments and investigate the unspeakable secrets of the Other Shore. Along the way, he crosses wits with other emissaries of the Other Shore who possess the same powers, and fights evil spirits to the death so that the living world won’t be overrun by the dead...
