Lin Wei, a modern-day cultural relic restorer, is forcibly bound by the “Eerie Path System” while restoring a Tang dynasty bronze mirror carved with Cthulhu-like patterns, and dragged into an infinite-instance world fused with the Cthulhu Mythos. The System uses “sanity points” as its unit of energy and issues tasks involving exploration, puzzle-solving, and Survival. Failure means having her consciousness devoured by an “unspeakable entity.” Lin Wei must rely on her keen powers of observation and logical reasoning to survive the eerie instances while uncovering the truth: the bronze mirror is an ancient “sealing artifact,” the System is the failed product of humanity’s research into the ancient ones, and her family are “guardians of the seal,” locked in a thousand-year struggle against Cthulhu’s forces. The instances grow progressively more dangerous according to their “threat level,” from low-tier Deep Ones to high-tier Outer Gods, gradually revealing the tip of the iceberg of a cosmic horror.
