Su Nian was raised on legends.
In her mother Su Wan’s dressing case, there was never any rouge or powder, only five bronze rings of different designs. Zhang Qiling’s ring was engraved with snowy mountains; Zhang Haike’s was adorned with waves; Zhang Hailou’s was wrapped in flame patterns; Zhang Haixia’s was hidden among vines. The one left by Zhang Qianjunwanma bore nothing but a blurry handprint. Her mother always said, “Love isn’t a cake to be divided. The heart has no fixed capacity.”
So Su Nian understood from an early age that a heart could be swept by a downpour or dusted with a gentle snowfall, and flowers could bloom on the shoulders of different people all the same.
And so… there came one, then two, then three…
On this journey, what she seeks to rob is not a tomb, but answers hidden in the passage of time. What she seeks is not immortality, but the light scattered in the eyes of different people.
After all, the blood flowing through her veins is proof that a whole group of people loved her with their entire lives.
