This book tells the story of Lin Xiaoping, a 28-year-old "professional trial and error expert" who, after his 36th entrepreneurial failure, posted a bizarre flyer about "teaming up to get rich" in the community in order to raise money and pay off debts. He unexpectedly gathered four "problem people": Zhang Daunai, a programmer with a vicious social fear, Wang Koi, a lucky boy with an unlucky aura, Li Jiaozhen, a serious teacher who is addicted to error correction after retirement, and Zhao Xiaomeng, a college student with social fear who keeps a parrot as a "mouth replacement". This combination, known as the "unreliable mutual aid team", launched a series of "money-making plans" in Xianyu City - from telling cold jokes to plants to promote growth, to using code to write jokes that became popular, to helping elderly people living alone to fight against the noise of square dancing and forming an "elderly e-sports team". They bonded over a bowl of "algorithm-flavored" clear soup at a hot pot restaurant. In their daily lives of trying to undermine and support each other, they turned "failure" into a joke and "unlucky" into a legend. When the regular housekeeping company reported them as "operating without qualifications" and when strange business opportunities were maliciously plagiarized, this group of ordinary people who were labeled as "waste" used the clumsiest persistence to fight against the critical blow of reality, and finally found their own "sparkling" in the fireworks of the city - it turns out that accepting the ordinary is the bravest counterattack.
