Su Wanqing, a top medical student, unexpectedly transmigrated into the Republic of China era as the “trophy wife” whom young marshal Huo Tingxiao had been forced to marry.
The original owner was timid and weak. She was abandoned on her wedding night, and no one in the household took her seriously. In silence, she used modern medicine to save lives and establish herself, while putting her business acumen to work to build up capital. When Huo Tingxiao was badly wounded in an assassination attempt and the finest doctors were at a loss, she calmly picked up her surgical tools and saved his life. When Huo Tingxiao awoke, he looked at her properly for the first time. “Who are you, really?” Su Wanqing removed her bloodstained gloves. “Your wife, and your ally.”
He offered her a marriage contract, but on the eve of the Northern Expedition, she put away her ticket. “Huo Tingxiao, this time I’m choosing freedom.”
