Born into the 1980s, six-year-old Gu An opens her eyes to a poor household and the heavy burden of making ends meet. Her tiny body holds a mature soul and an urgent desire to change her fate.
When one door closes, another opens. A magical “Pinduoduo” platform becomes her only lifeline. This cross-time marketplace, where she can buy and sell, is the lever she needs to move the era!
The 1980s are a time of upheaval, with gold waiting to be found everywhere. Gu An seizes every business opportunity with precision:
She takes advantage of information gaps to resell scarce goods and earn her first pot of gold.
She brings in novel, inexpensive small goods to fill gaps in the market and set trends in town. She even sells her hometown’s local specialties to the “future” through Pinduoduo!
From street stalls to proper shops, from a self-employed vendor to a small business owner, Gu An takes one step at a time, armed with a vision beyond her years and the magical Pinduoduo platform. She not only keeps her crumbling family afloat, but also writes her own small-business legend amid the tide of reform and opening up.
