Set in the power industry and drawing on the Fujian Electric Power Museum, this novel follows modern State Grid employee Liu Qiming as he discovers an old power-line map and begins tracing the story back to Republican-era Fujian. It recounts how the province's first generation of power engineers, including Liu Chongwei and chief engineer Bao Guobao, founded the Fuzhou Electric Company and persevered through hardship to bring electrification to rural communities for the first time. The story portrays a century of prosperity and upheaval in the “Electric Light Liu” family, their struggles and innovations, and the transformation of China's electric power industry.
This book is an unpopular subject on Tomato's fast-paced and high-spirited platform, but I like this book very much. The author's writing is very good. I feel like he is not an online writer, but like a professional writer. The wording and sentences are very precise and professional. I read it slowly, but I will finish it slowly.
