The Stories of Our Parents' Generation

After the War of Resistance ended, Gu Shaojun, who had been out of touch for seven years, sent his family a letter to let them know he was safe. He told his parents, wife, and children what he had been through, and that he had earned military honors.

After Gu Shaojun returned, he opened two letters from Hong Kong. Before the war, a British bank owner had invited him to work in Hong Kong.

Gu Shaojun accepted the offer.

He left home again, and Zhang Liqiu naturally went with him, bringing their two children. After arriving in Hong Kong, Zhang Liqiu established Zhang Trading Company in a war-ravaged district.

She began by connecting trade between her family and Hong Kong, then expanded throughout the province.

War broke out on the Korean Peninsula once more, and foreign countries imposed a trade embargo on China. Zhang Liqiu and the Chinese merchants joined forces to find ways to support their homeland.

Ten quiet years passed with no news from home.

When the spring breeze blew once more, Zhang Liqiu returned to invest in a company, leading the Gu and Qin families onto the road to commercial success.
