My memories drift away like grains of sand, leaving behind only the shell of a name and a profession.
The world before my eyes has gone completely mad: behind Victorian facades, cybernetic pipes writhe; at the end of traditional Chinese courtyards, the cold white glare of a laboratory. Streets are monstrous serpents biting their own tails, and the light is the lingering embers of an endless dusk. This is Corridor Town, a nightmare of non-Euclidean geometry.
The rusted seven-day wheel turns, pronouncing the day’s “theme.” Is it a day of silence, when making a sound summons “Sound Eaters”? Or a mirror day, when warped “reflections” crawl out of the glass? Worse still is the cognitive contamination that follows: other people’s faces melt into mosaics before my eyes; clues I just memorized ebb away like the tide, and even my sense of existence is fading…
“Anchors” are the glimmers of light that hold back madness. “Filth” is a poisonous vine coiling around my soul. I must explore this twisted place, solve its mysteries, and huddle together with other equally bewildered “Lost Ones.” But trust is a luxury. Suspicion, betrayal, and competition for resources are every bit as deadly as the unseen contamination.
Seven days. Just seven days. Failure means “reset”: my memories are wiped, everything starts over, and I’m trapped in the cycle forever.
The deeper I go, the more horrifying the truth becomes. Those eerie feelings of familiarity, those fragments of memories that don’t belong to this cycle… The horrors of Corridor Town seem to draw strength from the deepest fears within me.
Am I prey? A test subject? Or… a part of this prison of perception itself?
Seven-Day Wheel: Prison of Perception: a brutal race against space, rules, other people, and finally, the brink of my own mental collapse.
