The Library Cipher

Su Heng jolts awake in a library in the dead of night, only to find himself trapped alongside six strangers in a moving steel tomb of books. A cold electronic voice announces the rules: “Knowledge means life. Ignorance means death.” Taking a book is their only way out. But the bookshelves move and rearrange themselves like living things, while guillotine-like pages drop from the ceiling at any moment to eliminate “rulebreakers.” When a bespectacled man fails to take a book, The Divine Comedy smashes his neck. Blood stains the tiles. This is only the beginning of the slaughter.

They soon discover that this is no ordinary library. Books are weapons, and knowledge is a curse. The Time Loop can twist space and time, The Wealth of Nations holds lethal economic laws, and the Fifty Sounds Chart conceals the power of spoken words. “Nodes” have been implanted in the survivors, turning them into sources of information contamination. Every “checkout” is a ritual for the System to collect samples. As the shelves shift, the library collapses, plunging everyone into a sea of liquid information, where they face a liquid-metal core book made of data streams and the “Keepers of Secrets” tasked with carrying out the purge.
