The abrupt breakup five years ago left a wound in Lin Xi's heart that never healed.
Qin Yu returned in force as a rising star in tech, and she built an icy wall to keep him out.
She couldn't understand the reunion he had carefully arranged, or why he disappeared again.
Qin Yu burned through his life to pave her way, even personally entrusting her to Wen Yan, who had guarded her for years.
When his final letter revealed the promise beneath the camphor tree, Lin Xi finally understood the depth of his awkward, devoted love.
He burned away the rest of his life to light up her long night, never knowing that he was the very mystery she would spend her lifetime trying to solve.
