After completing the pilgrimage, dissatisfied with the Heavenly Court’s rigid ways and the rampant demons in the mortal world, Sun Wukong rejects the empty title of Victorious Fighting Buddha and returns to Flower-Fruit Mountain to open the "Great Sage Demon Hall." He takes it upon himself to vanquish demons and subdue devils, imprisoning harmful monsters in the hall for public display. In this unique way, he maintains order across the Three Realms and challenges the Heavenly Court’s inaction.
New Monsters: No repeats from Journey to the West. Each has different abilities and appearances, and they threaten humanity in a variety of ways. They are Sun Wukong’s main source of exhibits and his opponents in battle. Some may be transformed or undergo strange changes later in the story.
