Plum Blossom Numerology in Plain English

The Plum Blossom Book of Changes is a classic work rooted in the wisdom of ancient Chinese divination. With the principle that “anything in the world can be divined” at its heart, it brings the natural world and the full range of human affairs into its system of divination.

Written in clear, accessible language, this book breaks through the obscurity of traditional studies of the Book of Changes. Starting with classic cases such as “Divining by Observing Plum Blossoms” and “Divining When a Neighbor Knocks,” it unpacks the underlying logic of the interaction between the primary and supplementary trigrams and the interpretation of hexagram images, making it easy for readers to grasp the basics of casting and interpreting hexagrams. Whether casting by time or direction, or interpreting events through sounds and movement, readers can put these methods to use in everyday life.

The book not only recreates the way the ancients observed things and drew meaning from their forms, but also explores the philosophy behind divination from a modern perspective, revealing the cosmic principles of change, simplicity, and constancy. Whether you are new to traditional culture or eager to explore the thinking behind the Book of Changes, this book offers a fascinating glimpse into the connection between ancient wisdom and modern life, and the mysteries of the universe concealed within the hexagrams.
