[Campus romance + mutual pining comes true + light and sweet + both fall for each other]
[A short story just over 100,000 words]
Yu Qiu’s crush is all about “getting together first, then transmigrating back in time to make up for everything.”
She’s just spent a night of passion with the man she loves. When she opens her eyes, she’s back in high school, in the days when he was coldest toward her.
Staring at the handsome, don’t-come-near-me face of teenage Cen Yu, Yu Qiu is stunned:
Wasn’t I supposed to win you over in our senior year?
-
Armed with a guidebook to winning over her “future husband,” she confidently takes the initiative.
* At their first meeting, she spills Coke all over him, then gets caught halfway through feeling his abs. “Feel good?”
* She gets drunk and tearfully confesses her secret about transmigrating, then throws up and humiliates herself.
* She delivers a loving home-cooked dinner to his door, only to be kicked out with the food.
Yu Qiu is furious. “So this is a chase-your-wife-to-the-crematorium story? Bring it on!”
So she beats up her narcissistic childhood friend with one hand, warns off her fake-sweet bestie with the other, and never stops bombarding Cen Yu in between:
“Can I borrow your study notes to copy?”
“Can you teach me how to solve this problem?”
“Cen Yu, why are your ears red?”
She has no idea that the seemingly cold boy has long since fallen for her, step by step.
He secretly watches her while she sleeps and carefully puts all her homework in order.
He keeps the hair clip she lost as a child.
He saves every photo of her.
He grips the hand she uses to tease him, his eyes churning with barely restrained emotion. “You flirt with me and then run away. What are you playing at?”
“I’m sorry. This time, I’ll be the one to come to you.”
“The feelings I wrote about in the last page of my notebook can finally be told to her in person.”
“Yu Qiu, I never kept you waiting, because I crossed time for you, too.”
