The Summer Left Unspoken

Throughout his high school years, Wang Muyun's eyes quietly followed the girl sitting by the window: Qiu Yutong. She was top of the class, a shining star on the podium, and a name he wrote and crossed out again and again in his diary. He collected the scraps of paper she accidentally dropped and remembered every little thing she liked. Whenever they passed each other, he held his breath. In the end, the letter drifted into an empty corner, just like the youth he had never dared to speak of, quietly drawing to a close amid the clamor of high summer. Some feelings are destined from the very beginning to be letters no one will ever receive.
