This is the author's first original novel. The story is set in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War in Hebei Province. It begins with the hero going up the mountain to practice Buddhism by chance, to the three-year appointment made by his master when he came down the mountain, and the ups and downs of practicing Taoism alone for 60 years. It narrates his experience, growth, and legend.
