A Pure Love, Just for You

Novel Synopsis

Chen Lixi is a customer service girl making her way in the city. She fled her birth family at fifteen, and once met her bright, unforgettable first love, Chi Yaomo, in Beijing. He taught her to ride a bicycle, quietly ordered her a 689-yuan fish head pancake while claiming it cost just 16 yuan, and, after a car accident, could think only of whether she was hurt. He was a brilliant student at Temple University. Years later, she is living a quiet life in customer service when a friend unexpectedly introduces her to Qi Yikai, a customer service agent on Taobao's back end.

Qi Yikai enters her life with a few awkward little schemes: pretending to be poor so she'll buy him a shirt, telling his parents they've been dating for six months, secretly remembering how much she loves spicy food, and bringing her warm black chicken soup when she's on her period. From keeping her company over WeChat video calls and going on weekend dates to art exhibitions and hot pot, to their easy teamwork in the King's Canyon game, where his marksman pairs with her support, their feelings quietly grow amid the lively bustle of night-market barbecue stalls and the evening breeze in the wetland park.

On the second day of the eleventh lunar month, Chen Lixi's birthday, Qi Yikai confesses with a bouquet of champagne roses. He admits he's never been in a relationship and wants only to stay with her until they marry. Chen Lixi lets down her guard and tells him about the first love in her past, but firmly chooses the clingy, sincere young man beside her. From then on, Qi Yikai's clingy side is fully unleashed: he gets up early every day to bring her breakfast, shares little details of his day during work breaks, picks her up after work for sweet-and-sour ribs, and even makes plans for their future as he moves into a new home.

This is a love story tucked into the everyday bustle of city life. There are no sweeping, earth-shattering events, just a hot latte handed to her, lingering warmth on a coat, and messages answered the moment they arrive. Two people who were once lonely slowly find their way to each other's hearts as they heal one another.
