Lin Mo, a graduate student in the Department of Modern History, accidentally encountered cultural relics in a museum and traveled to Zunhua, Hebei Province in July 1928. This happened to be the scene of the "Donggin Robbery" in which Sun Dianying's troops blew up the tombs of Cixi and Qianlong in the Eastern Tombs of the Qing Dynasty. He accidentally became the secretary of the General Staff Office under Sun Dianying. From a modern perspective, he personally experienced this tomb robbery that shocked China and the world. He struggled to survive in troubled times, and at the same time tried to change the historical details with a weak force, or at least leave a record of the truth.
