In an age when “neural weaving” technology is commonplace, memories are no longer absolutely private. Lu Xun is a “memory detective” who operates in the legal gray areas. With his natural talent and an illegal interface called “Dreamweaver,” he can enter other people’s fractured, chaotic, and even dangerous mental spaces to uncover hidden truths or mend trauma. One day, he receives a commission from a mysterious client with the codename “Nightingale”: infiltrate the “Memory Corridor” of Chen Zhe, a deceased genius programmer, and find a piece of core code he backed up shortly before his death. The reward is too generous to refuse, but the risks are immense. Chen Zhe’s death is shrouded in suspicion, his Memory Corridor is extremely unstable, and the neural-tech giant “Zhiyin” may have set a deadly trap inside.
As Lu Xun explores Chen Zhe’s maze of memories, he encounters rampaging “data ghosts,” a memory-based defense mechanism, and discovers a clue pointing to Zhiyin’s secret project, “Eternal Archive.” The project aims to collect and permanently store every memory belonging to a select group of people, in pursuit of some form of “digital immortality” or mind control. Chen Zhe was silenced because he discovered its terrifying true nature.
As the investigation deepens, Lu Xun is drawn into an even greater maelstrom. He must:
1. Search for the code fragments Chen Zhe left behind in a mental maze full of deception and traps.
2. Evade the pursuit of Zhiyin’s elite “memory cleaners,” such as Vulture, who can operate both online and within mental spaces.
3. Navigate relationships with people whose motives vary: reporter Su Xiao, who is trying to expose the conspiracy, and someone who offers technical support but
