In the beginning of the primordial world, the Five Emperors stood side by side. The legacy of Shennong’s tasting of a hundred herbs had yet to fade, while war between the Yellow Emperor and Chiyou was already brewing in the clouds. Two ordinary modern people, Jiang Chen and Yao Yue, suddenly found their souls returned to ancient times. They became members of the Jiang and Yao clans, the lowest in rank in this era: Jiang Chen became an abandoned child of a tribe, while Yao Yue was reborn as an unnamed young woman. Stranger still, each found a “Dao Nexus” suspended in their mind. Jiang Chen received the Arcane Dao Nexus, which let him observe the flow of qi and deduce magical seals, uncovering mathematical principles in talismans. Yao Yue received the Spirit Resonance Dao Nexus, which let her sense heaven and earth and commune with all things, blending with nature through breathwork.
At the time, the Dao was only beginning to emerge. Shamans used blood sacrifices to summon divine powers, while qi cultivators mastered wind and thunder with alchemical formulas. Yet their Dao Nexuses seemed to mirror the laws of heaven and earth. Jiang Chen analyzed the “Dipper-Stepping Ritual” as coordinates along the stars, while Yao Yue comprehended the “Wind-Riding Technique” as the breath of air currents. When Jiang Chen drew a “Thunder Pattern Matrix” with talismans and Yao Yue summoned a “Phantom Azure Luan” with her spiritual resonance, the two first crossed paths atop Kunlun Mountain. Only then did they realize that the skies of this primordial world held not only Kunpeng spreading its wings and Yinglong riding the clouds, but also a coming storm of the Dao, one of “Mystery” and “Spirit,” set in motion by them.
The wind across the fields of Zhuolu already carried the stench of blood. Ancient secrets lay hidden in the feuds between tribes, and some even older will seemed to watch from behind the Dao Nexuses. They had to survive a chaotic age teeming with ferocious beasts and flying spells, while also unraveling the mystery of their rebirth: would they drift with the current and become mere specks of dust in this mythic age, or unite their two paths and carve out a way forward for “those who came later” amid the countless clans? As Jiang Chen’s “Heavenly Evolution Talisman” and Yao Yue’s “Nature Technique” intertwined in the clouds, their Dao journey across time and space was destined to be extraordinary.
