Do not read, the later chapters are a mess
Zhiwei transmigrated into a book.
A prompt appeared in her mind: “Save successful. Congratulations on being reborn once again. Please complete the mission of commenting on what you’ve read.”
At the time, Zhiwei was dependent on others, with a lowly status and a fate that meant she had no say in whom she married.
Fortunately, she had a delicate, pitiful beauty, with a pure, lovely face and a coy sweetness like a white lotus bud waiting to bloom.
As soon as she entered the Meng household, that face won the affection and sympathy of most of the family.
To complete her mission and return home, Zhiwei had to win over Meng Xingzhou, a villain who was ruthless and decisive at court, yet possessed a cool, otherworldly beauty and the bearing of an immortal. Beneath that exterior, however, he was scheming, cold-hearted, and ruthless.
During her attempts to win him over, she died once, her throat slit by the villain’s blade. She died on the spot, but fortunately the blade was sharp, sparing her much pain. When she was reborn again, her memories were reset.
By chance, she overheard his friend teasing him. “Xingzhou, your cousin is truly a rare beauty. I hear she isn’t betrothed. I’d like to marry her as my honored concubine. Do you think I’m worthy of her?”
The villain remained indifferent. After a long pause, the lotus beneath his brush gained a broken stem. He simply replied, “Plain-looking and blind. Absolutely impossible.”
Zhiwei thought he was judging her and grumbled to herself: “Short-lived fool!”
Who could have guessed that the next day, as she headed out to pray at a temple, though her real aim was to meet General Zhan, she would run into Meng Xingzhou? With a smile in his eyes and an elegant air, he bent toward her and pretended to ask a favor.
“Then I’ll trouble you, Cousin, to pray for a talisman of longevity for me.”
Zhiwei diligently followed the plot. Then a secret mission intervened, and after she faked her death once more, the treacherous minister went on a killing spree.
