What Kind of Boss Wants Junk Instead of Your Life?

In a nutshell: What do I do when a bizarre boss with an incurable collecting obsession won’t leave me alone?

Horror dungeons have descended into the real world, but the boss has his eyes on my collection.

He doesn’t want my life, just my limited-edition figurines, my grandma’s old pocket watch, and even the candy wrappers I’ve kept for ten years.

“Give me this.” The boss picked up my holey sock from the ruins.

I couldn’t take it anymore. “Are you crazy? You want this too?”

He nodded earnestly. “Disorder number 89757: severe object-collecting obsession.”

While the whole world was trying to escape, I was fighting the boss over trash.

Only later did I learn that he wasn’t collecting objects, but the strongest human emotions left behind on them.

And my pile of junk held the weight of an entire era.

I’m terrible at writing introductions, so just read the story.
