[No romance, no saintly heroine, mild horror, golden finger, humor, transmigration]
Modern forensic examiner Lu Qingcai opened her eyes to find herself a trainee coroner in the Jingzhou County Office of the Great Yin Dynasty, having just breathed her last. She nearly got buried alive in her coffin, too. The moment she kicked the lid open, a chime rang in her mind, and she was bound to the Yin-Yang Criminal Investigation System: a bizarre ledger that let her draw random grievance blind boxes.
From then on, her career took a completely bizarre turn:
In the autopsy room, the murder weapon sharpened itself in the middle of the night.
In front of the crime-reporting drum, a paper doll wept blood from its eye sockets.
Deep in an ancient well, a headless female corpse sang The Peony Pavilion in a high-pitched voice...
Clutching her modern autopsy report, Lu Qingcai expressionlessly shot down the spittle-flying spirit medium: “The deceased suffered a skull fracture and subdural hematoma, caused by blunt-force trauma. No residual parasites were found in the body. Case closed. Next!”
A passing Taoist master sneered. “A mere mortal coroner dares to pass judgment on cases from the underworld?”
Until one night, she casually drew a grievance blind box
Golden light burst forth, and a judge's brush, pitch-black with a crimson tip, landed in her hand.
A phantom of the Book of Life and Death unfurled in the air, its vermilion characters still wet.
The evil spirits and fiends roaming the city, along with that haughty Taoist master, all dropped to their knees and trembled like leaves:
“Spare us, Lord Judge!”
Looking at the small note beside her name in the Book of Life and Death, “The coffin lid she kicked over = King Yan's desk,” Lu Qingcai fell into thought:
“...So, I kicked the King of Hell's desk back then?”
