[Purely satisfying read. Bring your brain or leave it behind, either way, enjoy!]
[Not an infinite-loop story, but a real tale about a delivery guy saving the world.]
After escaping several extremely bizarre worlds, Ling Ye's System crackles inside his head, and he sits up in his hospital bed.
Who could have guessed that the damn System would follow him out? It even forces him to keep delivering takeout, and the orders grow increasingly absurd.
All he wanted was to scrape together money for his little sister's medical bills…
He used to ride a busted electric scooter that rattled everywhere except the bell, and spend every day battling late orders.
But who could have guessed that the rewards from the System would get weirder and weirder, too?
What's an energy boxing glove? What's permanent night vision? And what's that one you can use for, well, you know?
Then, one day during a downpour, Ling Ye uses a reward to repair his motorcycle, and its headlight suddenly projects a hologram: an energy core, hidden inside the bike's battered metal shell all along.
Then black-jacketed thugs surround him, shouting, "Hand over the future!"
Ling Ye feels the laser cannon that has popped out from under his seat and complains to the System: "Man, with things like this, even a laser cannon is outdated!"
System: …
"Next delivery: International Plaza. Reward: 'Absolute Rationality.' Friendly reminder: if you're late, the future will hunt you down."
Ling Ye: "You're really something, you damn System… Whoever wants to deliver this order can have it. I'm taking my busted bike out to save the world!"
"Besides, I already have absolute rationality… From the moment you came back with me, I stopped believing a word you said…"
[It's a fun ride, just a little unconventional. Mostly a single heroine, absolute rationality, decisive and ruthless action, a tiny bit of brainpower required, and plenty of twists on the usual tropes.]
