Camel Bells Across the Sands

The Camel Bells Across the Sands tells the story of the Hexi Corridor in the 1890s, where the orphan Ma Xiao grows from a starving boy fighting over half a sheepskin into a camel caravan master who protects the trade routes. With camels as his feet and sheepskin as his blade, he struggles against the shifting sands and the depths of human nature: learning to tan hides, fighting bandits, and protecting the woman he loves. On the Gobi trade routes, he writes a legend of his own. Northern and southern crafts collide, good and evil clash, and in the end, the camel bells and the ideals he held dear ring out forever across the Hexi Corridor.
