The whole book is so depressing! The ruthlessness and coldness of Lei Bu at the beginning (it should be normal for a place that controls punishment), the darkness of Buddhism and some immortals on the way to the west... Especially the weakness and helplessness of the human race are very realistic.
The protagonist suppresses Buddhism so much, why does he become a Buddha in the end?
The writing is good. The storyline comes into play. Recommend
