"Cherish the Lost Youth of You and Me" tells the story of the inter-generational love between Chen Zhen, who was born in 1973 on the coast of Yan Province, and Zhao Ping, a twin sister from the Northeast in 1978. Chen Zhen has suffered from asthma since he was a child, but he scored countless perfect scores with his intelligence. However, his fate took a turn when he was entering high school - he lost focus due to a fever, encountered a chaotic campus, ended up in a bank, and experienced two failed marriages.
He broke into a rural greenhouse and raised 800 dogs. After buying out from the bank, he opened an agency and got credit. However, his funds were cut off during real estate development. He fled to Lu Province with Zhao Ping and his children, and struggled to survive by relying on auto repairs, restaurants, and logistics.
Zhao Ping has known her through her sister (Chen Zhen's second wife's sister-in-law). From a colleague to a friend, she has accompanied him through bankruptcy, running away, and seven years in prison. When Chen Zhen was released from prison, the waiting of his mother and Zhao Ping made him understand: Those crazy youths swept by the tide of the times, and the love grown in the fragrance of medicine, sweat and tears, are the years that should be cherished most.
