After Sun Wukong was named Victorious Fighting Buddha, he retired to Flower-Fruit Mountain. Heaven and Mount Lingshan joined forces to lay a trap and hunt him down, dividing his six faculties, sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought, among demon kings such as the Black Bear Spirit and the Yellow Wind Monster to consolidate their rule.
Five hundred years later, Li Changgeng, the Taibai Jinxing who had masterminded Heaven’s “Pilgrimage Project,” must contend with pressure from Mount Lingshan while also putting down a rebellion sparked by the remnants of Sun Wukong’s soul. Meanwhile, the Chosen One is leading the surviving forces of Flower-Fruit Mountain to reclaim the six faculties and bring Sun Wukong back to life.
