Beyond the Palace Walls: A Dream of Two Beauties

Two modern souls are cast into the Qing palace. One becomes Xu Jun, the quick-witted maid at Zhen Huan’s side; the other, Feng Xiao, a resourceful palace maid serving under Consort Hua.

Though they belong to opposing camps, a poisoning plot at a Dragon Boat Festival banquet reveals the unspoken understanding between them. Lead poisoning arranged by the Empress, a frame-up by Qi Bin, hydrocyanic acid hidden in rouge... The inner palace is a maze of traps. Using a hairpin and two boxes of new tea, they secretly communicate, paving the way for their respective mistresses amid deadly intrigue. And where no one can see, they join forces in silence to resist the endless schemes.

As Zhen Huan and Consort Hua clash openly, the two young women work in secret harmony. The power struggles behind these vermilion walls are destined to be thrown into tumult by two unexpected souls.
