The Underworld King Does Not Speak

The Hundred-Ghost Pawnshop: The Twelve Stewards Answer to My Command

On the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, the gates of hell swung open, and a hundred ghosts surrounded Lin Ye, the grave keeper at a mass burial ground.

At death's door, he killed a green-faced ghost and unexpectedly awakened the ability to devour ghost energy.

“A child of the Yin meridians!” The green-faced ghost's dying wail drew cultivators from the mystical sects. But they found Lin Ye protecting a dim-witted little ghost: “Who dares lay a hand on my son?”

To suppress the Yin energy surging within him, he opened a pawnshop between Yin and Yang: “Pawn your obsessions, and be reborn into the cycle of reincarnation.”

His very first customer was the soul of a white-fronted tiger with eyes like lanterns and an obsession too deep to let go.

The tiger soul turned into a black jade tiger-shaped pendant, and at the same time, a faint light appeared deep inside the pawnshop.

Following its glow, Lin Ye saw twelve fearsome stone sculptures carved with monstrous heads, sealed away for ages. The tiger sculpture's eyes were burning with a ghostly green flame.

It turned out that he was devouring more than ghost energy. He held the key to unlocking this ancient pawnshop.

When the twelve Chinese zodiac signs take their places, twelve fiendish stewards who once stirred up the Three Realms will return to the mortal world.
