Arknights: The World of Most People

You ask what happened here? Well, a child from another world innocently came to this land, hoping to turn it into the world of his dreams. He simply forgot that one person's wishes aren't enough to change the course of history. We gave him a little help with that. As for what happened next...

“I thought it was just a grain of sand in the tides of time.” “You can't see the grand narrative.” “The inertia of history can't be stopped.” “Then go tell that to the spiral of progress.” “We're all doing our best to develop.”

Seriously, Catastrophes and the Infected may both be among the smallest problems facing this land. When most people are shut out of history and only a handful get to decide where it goes, the odds of this civilization avoiding destruction become vanishingly small. The love of history is not meant for just a few. To give the majority back the power to write history, and to let everyone feel her love, a little pain and a few lessons are necessary and inevitable. Even without this transmigrator's arrival, history will ultimately carry out her will.

Disclaimer: I got into Arknights in early 2020, then took a long break from the game. I wrote the handwritten version of this story in early 2024, so please go easy on me if anything differs from the established lore.
