With the smoke of war finally cleared, ace soldier Lin Rui returns to his hometown because his father is injured. But an accident awakens the power of his ancestral jade pendant, allowing him to understand the voices of all living things. Going from special forces soldier to farmer, he uses his military expertise to transform the countryside and relies on intelligence from animals to protect the mountains and forests. Amid corporate predation and the battle to defend the ecosystem, he blazes a legendary path as a “guardian of the mountains, living in harmony with them.” His military medals are gradually covered by seeds, and the golden patterns on the pendant blend with the mountains and forests. When the roar of gunfire gives way to birdsong and blossoms, he finally understands the deeper meaning of his grandfather’s words: “The Lin family guards the mountains; the jade pendant is our bond.”
