Old Man Zhou Is Reborn: You Unfilial Brats, Get on Your Knees!

[Reborn] [Historical Era] [Feel-Good Story] [Everyday Life] [Family Squabbles]

After his wife dies young, Zhou Weidong raises three sons and two daughters on his own, enduring every hardship for their sake.

At seventy, years of hard work have taken their toll. He has early-stage lung cancer, but no money for treatment. He wants to see his children, yet not one of them comes to keep him company, afraid he’ll ask them for money.

He dies without seeing a single one of them. They are either busy or on their way to being busy.

In a fit of anger, he jumps from the twenty-sixth floor, ending a life of hard work, loneliness, and misery.

Before he jumps, he swears that if he is reborn, he will live differently.

Heaven takes pity on him, and he really is reborn, back in 1985.

His selfish eldest son wants money to go abroad. Get lost. I don’t have any.

His second son wants to take over his job. No way. Find a job yourself.

His third son wants to pay a huge bride price to marry a gangster’s daughter. No money. Earn it yourself if you can.

His fifth child threatens to die unless allowed to marry a street thug. He won’t stop her.

His fourth child is the most honest, but she marries a penniless man who beats her. She dies young in childbirth.

This time, he is determined to prevent that tragedy.

With the times changing for the better, the family’s rural home is set to be demolished, and every child wants a share. But he has already split up the household before then.

He and his wife eat well, take care of their health, and plan to live to ninety-nine.

To his surprise, once he stops indulging his children, every one of them becomes filial.
