I Bound Myself to a Study System in a Period Novel

PS: The protagonist is a kid and grows over the course of the story. If that's not your thing, don't read. The protagonist isn't a saint and has his own flaws.

Lin Nanyan was the kind of person everyone called a winner in life: an outstanding student from childhood, he went straight through to a PhD and landed a job as secretary to A City's richest man as soon as he graduated. His boss was a legendary, diamond-studded bachelor who had taken control of the group's lifeblood in his twenties. Lin Nanyan looked glamorous and earned 100,000 a month, but his CEO boss was a total nutcase. One night, while he was being dragged out of bed to buy something at a convenience store, a heavy truck hit him.

He thought his life was over and swore he never wanted to deal with another lunatic CEO in his next life. Then Lin Nanyan was bound to a System that called itself Study to Strengthen the Nation, numbered 965. System 965 claimed its Host only had to work five days a week, from nine to six. Delighted, Lin Nanyan immediately accepted its terms.

Not listening to the System's full explanation was the biggest mistake of Lin Nanyan's life. System 965 had only mentioned the Host's work hours, not that he would have to study around the clock. *Collapses.*
