Lin Wanzhao, a doctor with Doctors Without Borders, is reborn three months before the apocalypse breaks out. Remembering how she died in a zombie attack in her previous life, she puts her medical expertise and foresight about stockpiling supplies to use, turning her apartment complex’s basement into a safe haven and contacting old acquaintances to form a survivor team. After the apocalypse begins, she uses her medical knowledge to save the injured and her stockpiles to keep the team alive. She battles threats including zombie hordes and gangs of thugs, gradually expanding her influence and building a large safe base until she becomes a leader among the survivors. Along the way, she and Shen Qingzhu, an underground fighter, go from mistrusting each other to fighting side by side, and develop a bond built on protecting one another. In the end, she leads her team toward a new dawn after the apocalypse.
