In modern China, ancient arcane arts collide with mythical beasts from the Classic of Mountains and Seas!
Maoshan Taoist Lu Yunhe accidentally awakens memories of a past life and teams up with Zhuoma, a young girl who is the reincarnation of a living Buddha from Tibet, to form a supernatural investigation duo. As they travel across the country investigating the theft of ancient texts, they stumble upon the long-hidden Secret Records of the Mountains and Seas, which document arcane arts capable of reviving the mythical beasts in the Classic of Mountains and Seas. As their investigation deepens, they discover that the truth behind Lu Yunhe’s father’s mysterious death is connected to a tomb-raiding gang that stole an ancient treasure twenty years ago.
To stop the Blood Curse Cult from using these arts to summon mythical beasts and wreak havoc on the world, Lu Yunhe and Zhuoma join forces with scientist Cheng Qian and folk-heritage inheritor Granny to form the Yin-Yang Squad. They venture into Miaojiang’s Gu villages, forbidden Tibetan monasteries, and the depths of Tianchi Lake on Changbai Mountain, unraveling arcane plots behind a string of murders. In the ghost city of Lop Nur, they face off against the incarnation of an evil god who has lived for a thousand years. At last, they expose a shocking secret involving the primordial evil god Hundun. I’ll keep working hard to tell every story well!
