An accident during a particle-collision experiment sends Su Su, chief designer at the Military Industry Administration in the year 2500, into the body of a girl with the same name in the seventies, who had been jilted and thrown herself into a river.
The Su family is weathering a storm. The family's military achievements have been smeared, and the whole family is under threat of being branded and brought down. Just as everyone thinks the Su family is finished, Su Su, who has already “died” once, suddenly changes her expression. Armed with blueprints for the future of technology, she builds an impenetrable defense around her family.
To keep a low profile, she's assigned as a soldier to a local arts troupe. But during a live-fire drill, she takes apart an AK-47 with her bare hands, stunning everyone. From then on, she trades her military uniform for combat gear. Electromagnetic cannons, stealth fighters, intelligent mechs... weapons that exist only in the future appear one by one in her hands, shaking the world.
More importantly, she meets the man who loves her more than life itself.
But then she discovers that she's a cannon-fodder character in the book Sweet Romance in the Seventies: the male lead, Li Zhiyao's, never-seen ex-fiancée, mentioned only once during an argument between the leads, as someone who “died young.”
Su Su sneers: “Cannon fodder? Do you think the plasma cannon in my hands is a fire poker?”
