The Mysterious Oracle Bone Script

Archaeologist Lin Yuan deciphered a strange divination inscription on an oracle bone unearthed at the Yin Ruins: “On the Guihai day, the Emperor sends down calamity. The Heavenly Dog devours the sun, and the Earth Dragon turns over.”

He scoffed at the ancients’ superstition and casually placed the bone fragment in a museum display case.

The next morning, the headlines blared that a total solar eclipse, unseen in a thousand years, and a magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Sichuan had struck the previous night. The date was the Guihai day.

The teacup slipped from his trembling hand and shattered. Amid the crash, dark red beads of blood suddenly seeped from the oracle bone in the display case, slowly joining together to form several new characters:

“You’re next.”
