[Republican-era mystery and romance + stoic detective vs. spirited heiress + talkative sidekick playing matchmaker]
A series of murders rocks Jinling City, forcing the Western-educated detective Luo Haochen to join forces with Huang Lingxi, the heiress of a family of traditional physicians.
Her silver needle reveals a mysterious fragrance at the crime scene. He catches her by the wrist: “Tamper with the scene again, and I’ll investigate you too.”
That night, Huang Lingxi kicks open the police station door with her bedding in her arms. “Fine! We’ll eat and sleep together. Let’s see who catches the real culprit first!”
Lu Jingran stares in shock, bun in his mouth. “Boss, is this young lady saying she’s going to… move in with you to solve the case?!”
