Chen Chusheng is a blue-shark demon, director of Division Seven at the Demon Management Bureau and leader of its case squad. Calm and collected, he’s like a pillar holding back the waves, always making his teammates feel safe when danger strikes. They respectfully call him “Big Brother.”
Su Xing is a clever orange cat and the squad’s deputy leader. Quick-witted and just as cool-headed, he loves challenging Chen Chusheng. He often loses, but never gets discouraged, fighting again and again no matter how many times he’s beaten.
Wang Lixin, the youngest at the Demon Management Bureau, is a Samoyed demon who serves as the team’s muscle. Warm and cheerful, he’s bursting with energy, though a little impatient, like a tiny star ready to go supernova at any moment.
Zhang Yuan, known as “the bodybuilding Barbie bird,” also handles the team’s muscle work. He’s eloquent and seems emotionally steady, but can get irritable from time to time. Strangely, whenever he’s with Lu Hu, they seem to switch on “brain-off mode” and do things that are equal parts hilarious and exasperating.
Wang Zhengliang is an owl demon and unquestionably the bureau’s senior figure. Sharp-eyed, he mainly handles intelligence gathering. Always even-tempered, he gives each of his younger teammates the same care, like a warmhearted family patriarch.
Lu Hu may be a tiger, but he has none of the majesty of the king of beasts. Easygoing and honest, he has a lovable, goofy air about him. Whenever he teams up with Zhang Yuan, their “brain-off” duo gets up to all kinds of antics.
The plot is constantly reversing, and the character design is very rich.
