Born in the emptiness of Hell, Lin Xu rules over its myriad ghosts, and is known to the world as the King of the Dead. After endless ages on Hell's throne, all that remains is a life of tedium. Longing for the vibrant mortal realm, he draws the united forces of the Three Realms against him. Even after a battle that shakes the heavens, they still cannot stop him. Lin Xu forcibly tears open a rift between worlds and heads for the mortal realm, but its violent power shreds everything from his past. The memories of the King of the Dead vanish, leaving him to drift through life as an ordinary mortal.
Just then, spiritual qi revival begins. The mighty figures of the mortal realm, the Celestial Realm, and the Underworld, dormant for countless ages, awaken one after another. Old enemies, ancient grudges, conflicts among the Three Realms, and memories buried for years all begin to stir.
